What is a webhook?

A webhook is a real-time notification that Appointedd sends when specific events occur—such as a booking being created or a customer being updated. This notification is sent via an HTTP POST request to a designated Webhook URL, and includes event data in JSON format.

Once received, this data can be used by other systems to trigger follow-on actions like:

Creating or updating a record in another tool
Sending notifications to your team
Starting a workflow or automation
Logging data in a spreadsheet

How do webhooks work in Appointedd?

Webhooks can be triggered by:

Bookings: created, updated, or cancelled
Customers: created, updated, or deleted

To set one up:

Go to Connect > Create webhooks in Appointedd
Give your webhook a clear name (e.g. “Booking to CRM”)
Choose the appropriate trigger (e.g. booking_created)
Paste your receiving app’s webhook URL
Click Save webhook

When your selected trigger happens, Appointedd sends a structured payload of booking or customer data to the URL you've provided—allowing the receiving tool or service to process that data however you need.

Webhooks allow you to connect Appointedd to almost any system that accepts incoming webhooks or APIs. You can connect with Google Sheets to log data, Slack or Microsoft Teams to notify your team, and HubSpot or Salesforce to update CRM records.
